Lightning

Access lightning data from AEM’s lightning detection network in near-real time, plus history, alert polygons, and map layers that support safety decisions, operations, and post-event analysis.

Live lightning data streamed in 15 seconds or less via WebSocket or TCP/IP socket
Historical lightning for the contiguous U.S., from the last 90 seconds back to two years
Lightning alert polygons, including Dangerous Thunderstorm Alerts, in XML based on the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP)
