LT1 logging transceiver

The LT1 is a compact, rugged logging transceiver that collects, stores, and transmits real-time data and alerts based on your custom environmental parameters to make any monitoring campaign a success.

Meet the most comprehensive remote monitoring data logger

Flexible communication

Compatible with GOES, Iridium, and cellular 4G networks for reliable telemetry anywhere.

Rugged & deployment-ready

Designed to work in extreme temperatures and coated to protect from moisture.

Secure data transmission

Cell and Iridium models meet MQTT protocol for scalable and secure communication.

How we can help

When communities and businesses need reliable, real-time weather or water data to protect people, property, and infrastructure, the LT1 steps in to connect human monitoring professionals with the information they need to make the right decisions and lead with confidence.

Real-time awareness & reliable research

Telemetry for any environmental monitoring

Getting telemetry right is key to any field study, whether it’s climate research or a wildfire risk analysis. The LT1 is built for the age of escalating environmental hazards, enabling researchers to carry out more detailed and meaningful studies and draw more informed conclusions to drive better action.

Decision-driving data for risk management

Real-time snapshots of key sites

The LT1 is ideal for public safety and emergency management applications where actionable intelligence can save lives and minimize the destructive impact of a severe weather event like a storm or flood. By pairing stations using the LT1 and AEM Elements™ 360, you can create a comprehensive monitoring and alerting system to initiate response protocols and lead in a way that keeps people safe.

FAQs

A logging transceiver combines the storage capabilities of a data logger with the long-range communication capabilities of a transmitter to create a single device that can capture data from a remote monitoring station and report it in real time. Sensors gather readings but it’s the logging transceiver that packages those observations into data and sends them back to people for study and analysis.

The LT1 is compatible with a wide variety of AEM weather and hydrology stations as well as some third-party systems. Within the AEM family, the Compact Automated Weather Station and Compact Automated Hydrology Station and road condition monitoring systems can utilize the LT1 for logging and telemetry. The LT1 is also a go-to component in custom-built systems that require real-time data from the remote wilderness or far off the grid.

That depends on where you’re working. If you’re monitoring conditions in an area where there’s great cell service (the city, suburbs, etc.), then cellular data transmission will work reliably. If you’re deep in the woods, off the grid, or in an area where consumer cell service is spotty, then satellite telemetry is necessary for reliable real-time data. The best way to know what’s right for your situation is to speak with an AEM specialist to talk through your specific application and goals.
